Coronavirus Update 20.03.20

Thank you for your continued support during this incredibly challenging time. Following on from our last update,  we are letting you know that we have now been instructed to close the school to almost all children after Friday 20 March 2020 until further notice.

As advised by the Government, schools will do all we can to stay open for the students of key workers (e.g. NHS staff, police, others in frontline services) and children with certain needs. Please remember Government guidance is that ‘every child who can be safely cared for at home should be, in order to limit the chance of the virus spreading’.

Students of key workers, who cannot be safely cared for at home should come to school in full school uniform no earlier than 8:45 am. We have limited staff numbers and we have been advised to keep the size of groups to a minimum.  Breakfast Club will not be running and at break time students will need to bring their own snack.  Please ensure if your child is in school that you collect them at 3.25 pm as there will not be staff to look after them after this time.  All other children will need to stay at home, so we ask that you do not send your child into school from Monday onwards.

If your family is currently self-isolating and you have registered as key worker requiring a school place during the school closure, please ensure you complete the 14 days isolation period before sending your child to school.

Please note that this is a National closure, so while it is a challenging situation, we are not alone. We will re-open fully as soon as we can and will let you know when this happens as soon as we are notified through our website.  Please make sure you check our school website regularly.

This is as much as we know right now and we appreciate your continued patience as we deal with this ever-changing situation. We understand that this latest news will have an impact on you and your family and it’s far from ideal, but we will continue to keep in touch with any updates as the situation develops.

If you or your child feels ill and you want to know what to do next, please use NHS 111 online, rather than ring school for advice.
