The termly report which has been brought in during this academic year is much more effective and informative than the previous method of reporting and is one which is much fairer to the child. Thank you particularly to the Y6 teachers for their hard work and commitment during this new SATS year. It is much appreciated. My child leaves Windmill fully prepared for her new chapter at high school, many thanks to all staff.

My daughter has enjoyed her time at Windmill. Staff have always been available if I have needed to speak to them. Really pleased with my daughter's SATs results and would like to thank the staff for all their hard work.

My son has been given excellent support during the time he has been at Windmill. I feel that all the staff are approachable. We all have happy memories of his time at Windmill.

I have seen my son flourish this year into a confident learner. I can't thank his teacher enough for her help, understanding and commitment. She really is a wonderful teacher who has grabbed his attention and made this year at school an amazing one. Overall, I feel the school is a wonderful place to be. My son wants to attend every day and does so with great enthusiasm. Thank you!

The changes in the school during the last few years are phenomenal! The energy and drive that Mr Scargill has implemented has had such an impact on new and old teachers and is clearly seen in and around the school. My daughter has really bonded with her class teacher, is always keen to get to school and always has positive things to say about her day at school. Absolutely wonderful school, will be sad when the time comes for her to leave!

I am happy with the great improvements at school in many areas and am pleased my son has made good progress this year and pleased he will have the same support from his teacher next year. I am sure he will now be successful in all areas in year 6.

We can't praise school/staff enough. We would highly recommend to anyone. We have seen continuous positive improvements that have reflected in our son's work and confidence.

I am very happy with the direction the school is heading. I must be honest, before my daughter came over to KS2, I was thinking of moving her school. Now, I'm very pleased I didn't and waited. The improvements have been very good #happyparent.
We have been really happy with how our daughter has been taught this year by her teacher. She has clearly built up a fantastic rapport with her and we have felt confident that she has challenged her appropriately and supported her where needed.

My child and us as parents absolutely love the school and couldn't rate it highly enough. Parents are so well informed of school life, it often feels as though we're there ourselves! You can feel how well managed and organised the school is, from first thing in the morning with the staff presence outside. My child is happy and thriving and I feel as though the school has high expectations of her, pushing her to achieve in not only the academic subjects, but in all areas of her school career. I love that the school places value on not just literacy and numeracy, but that all subjects are taught well and with importance. The extra-curricular and charity events are wonderful! All round, it's great and we love it!

My child has gone from been quite nervous with her maths to getting quite confident, that is thanks to the support from her teachers and the additional after school club she attended. If teachers push the children and encourage them to believe they can accomplish a task, the children will continually do well. Each term I am witnessing positive changes in and around school with the whole learning environment.

In our opinion Windmill is an outstanding school. One area in particular I would like to comment on is this year's topics for Year 2. Batley and the local area, Africa and Transport etc have really engaged my daughter. Clearly a lot of teacher time and effort had gone into making the topics come to life for the children. The African visitors, visit to Manchester Airport and trip to Filey really enthused her and contributed to her confidence to learn more independently; it has encouraged her to do her own research and also ask about other countries, languages and cultures. Thank you to my child's teacher and the rest of the Year 2 team.

Myself and my son's Dad have been extremely impressed with Windmill school as a whole from the start. The one main thing that impresses us the most is the amazing way the teachers have spent the time to get to know our son as an individual and brought him on academically in leaps and bounds. Our son can be challenging at times and we feel that the teachers get to know his character and deal with him how we would. Our son has a positive attitude towards school and loves to learn - we hope as parents that this continues throughout his life.

In the past years school has improved a lot - academically, appearance, behaviour, security and safety. Thanks to everyone for their efforts and hard-work. There was a dilemma once when I was debating what to do - when one of my children might have had to change the school my son said "I am happy here don't want to go to another school."
Parent of child in Y6 and Y2
Since my son started Windmill School at Easter, he has settled really well. For him, changing school was huge. He's never been a big fan of school but down to your staff and the teaching and learning he's experienced, Windmill is changing this. A lovely school with lovely staff. He is very excited to go on the trips. Very happy.

Put don't know for bullying as never had any problems in this respect. My child loves coming to school, he is happy and supported. If I have ever wanted to discuss anything I have been listened to and always felt positive steps have been taken.

I am very happy with the school. My son had a few issues this year in Y1 to do with the transition from Reception. The teachers involved dealt with this by giving my son and myself the support we needed. He was reassured on a daily basis and was not 'played down.' He now loves going to school and has formed great relationships with the teachers and peers. I love the open door policy adopted by the school and love the involvement parents are encouraged to take. A breath of fresh air. A very positive place to learn and great teachers in his class.

Reassuring to know that there are lots of excellent discussions within the community about the school and the positive changes Mr Scargill has implemented.
I cannot express how happy I am with my child's first year at school. She has learnt so much, enjoyed every minute and been so happy to go everyday. The staff in reception have all been fantastic, particularly my child's teacher. Everything has been so well organised, the reading, the trips, the sports day (which was fantastic, the best I've attended). I literally can't find a single fault with my child's first year at this school. Thank you for making it such a wonderful experience for her.
Our first impressions over 12 months ag0 when we arranged a visit were excellent. Since September when our daughter joined Reception these have been exceeded. We have faced challenges that the school have supported pastorally and effectively. Communication is excellent and we have seen our daughter flourish in your environment. Staff are very supportive, professional and above everything approachable - teachers and support staff (breakfast/lunchtime). We have every confidence our daughter will continue to grow and enjoy attending Windmill.
